The Results

Highlanders surged, Chiefs slumped. Role reversals. ALB was great. Retallick is always missed when off.

Rebels gifted off a few awful Brumbies moments. Pocock wasn’t really missed when he, unfortunately, went off. Is he done? Too many head-knocks. Is it worth it? Now, honestly, did Cooper deserve all the gushing and fawning that’s been heaped on him? I watched that game and I am sure I didn’t see “imperious” or “season-defining” or “We can win the title” off the back of that. I tweeted the commentator’s hilarious commentary. Thoughts chaps?

Crusaders will take that one. Not so much able to “close out the big ones” as some are saying and more, clutching at victory while making it hard for yourselves. Blues choked a little (the kicker) but will learn. Looking better Blues!

Hurricanes will be happy they won that on the back of some nice Ardie Savea work through the guts. When the tries kept coming and they kept getting knocked back and the hurricanes would do it again, you know something had to crack. Waratahs looking tentative and unsure in some stages. They had done enough to win it and then the iceman was water again. I think its time to rethink that moniker.

Sharks deserved a win after taking the initial heat from the Sunwolves, who showed some intent early, but couldn’t carry it on. As expected.

Bulls wiped the floor with the Stormers. Not many of us saw that coming. It was an imperious performance.

Lions saw off a spirited effort by the Jaguares. I thought lions would kick on and then they didn’t.

What did we learn?

Not much, but there were a lot of close games which is exciting to watch. Warratahs had a nice crowd, there were what I’d call 50% craowds at most games. The games themselves were not too bad, as games go. I wonder what needs to happen to get people through the turnstiles.
